After racing in the 2000 Olympics for Serbia, Ivan was recruited by the University of California at Berkeley to join their National Championship rowing team. In 2005, Ivan graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science.
Upon graduation, Ivan invested over 10 years in San Francisco’s tech scene. It was there Ivan honed his client service skills at Riverbed Technologies, where he worked directly with clients and local partners to drive business in enterprise market segments across the United States and Canada. Applying his industry-leading experience in technology services and sales, Ivan joined IPG as a partner to support the leadership of IPG’s brokerage services platform.
Today, Ivan Smiljanic is one of IPG’s most trusted experts, counting numerous distinguished businesses and community leaders among his clients.
Ivan is on the Executive Board of Northern California Olympians, and he is the Director of Rowing Relations at UC Berkeley. He is also on the Executive Board of the “Friends of Cal Crew” organization, an affiliate of the University of California at Berkeley. He is responsible for the financial and organizational support of UC Berkeley’s Rowing Team. Additionally, he serves on the board and is an active member of the Serbian Entrepreneurs Society of San Francisco.
With the spirit of a true Olympian, Ivan proves that success takes great passion, not just mild interest. He applies this dedication each day in leading the IPG brokerage team and projects, while closely listening to clients’ needs and fighting for their best interest.
Ivan Smiljanic truly believes that knowledge and devotion are the most followed real estate brands in the world, calibrated for the global marketplace, and delivering proven results for his client-companies, buyers, sellers, and developers.
Being a reliable broker known for his extensive market knowledge and unparalleled devotion to clients and their experience, it’s safe to say that Ivan’s success is based almost entirely on positive referrals.
While focusing on problems might make one an expert in what’s wrong, Ivan’s taught us that in order to become an expert in what’s right you need to guide your team towards solutions – and that is exactly what he does every day.
Ivan Smiljanic is still an active athlete, and to this day enjoys racing in rowing and mountain biking. He lives in San Mateo with his wife Diana and their two young children.
